Embracing My Duality

As strong and driven as I seem - I’ve never actually accepted those parts of me until recently. I’ve always tried to be caring and demure - as feminine as possible. I had this idea of a “perfect woman” in my head and power was not part of it. Through my accomplishments and even praise from others, my Eastern Euro programming was so ingrained that I brushed it off and continued to search for that power in men.

In that search, I ended up giving my power away time and time again and it wasn’t until I realized that the strength I love and admire in men - I first had to love in myself. My drive, commitment, and Russian fighter spirit are actually some of the most beautiful parts of me. The moment that I let them be what they are - my feminine began to shine even more which meant more dancing, creativity, glittery magic moments - more abundance. The void I was looking to fill by “trying” to be more feminine was filled by embracing my strength.

My masculine/strong moments look like:

• I need this sample by Friday morning
• I made a reservation at 7pm - please don’t be late
• I know exactly where we should go today

GENTLEMEN:
I realize the same is true for men - the most masculine men. You can’t be “on” at all times and sometimes you need to rest your “going to battle” or “handling business” energy. Letting yourself embrace soft moments actually helps you move forward more powerfully in work, relationships, fitness, etc. Being able to embrace a feminine moment is like taking a mental health nap and can be the key to filling any void you feel.

Here’s what a feminine/ soft moment can look like:

•Can I vent for 10 mins? (no solutions or answers - just sharing)
•Hey man, I really don’t know how to do this, can you show me?
•Can you make this decision - I’m not up to it

A feminine woman not in touch with her masculine bits ends up giving her power away, like I did for years. In the wrong relationships and seeing my strength as a burden instead of a superpower. In contrast, a masculine man not in touch with his feminine tries to control everyone around him instead of being the effortlessly confident man we want to be around.

So guys - next time you are feeling overwhelmed, say you don’t know how to do something and don’t try to figure it out, or just have a solo dance party in your underwear - I promise it’ll be like a sigh of relief and then you can get back to handling your business.
